What you receive

Five things, in writing.

  1. A map of your workflows

Three to five workflows, drawn with the people who do them, showing where the time goes.

  2. A scored shortlist

Every candidate scored for value, risk and data readiness, with the reasoning shown.

  3. One recommended first project

With its scope, the number it must beat, and what it depends on.

  4. A named governance owner

One person in your business responsible for how AI is used, with a one page set of rules to start from.

  5. A one page plan

What to do first, second and third. Written so you can act on it with us, with someone else, or on your own.

How the two weeks run

Short, and mostly spent listening.

  1. Days one to three

    Interviews

Conversations with up to six of your people, from the owner to the person who does the task. We ask where the time goes.

  2. Days four to six

    Mapping

We draw the workflows and check them with the people we spoke to. Corrections at this point are cheap.

  3. Days seven to nine

    Scoring

Each candidate is scored. We look at the information it would need and whether that information can be trusted.

  4. Day ten

    The plan

We present the shortlist, the recommended project and the plan, and leave them with you.

What we need from you

Three things. Without them we will suggest waiting.

  1. A sponsor

Someone who can make decisions and will attend the first and last sessions.

  2. Time with your people

About an hour each with up to six staff.

  3. Real examples

Samples of the work itself: the forms, emails, reports or records involved.

Questions we are asked

Before you request the scope.

Why is the price not shown?

The scope is fixed and so is the price. We confirm it by reply so we can first check the engagement suits your business. You will have it in writing before you commit to anything.

What if there is no project worth doing?

Then we say so, and explain what would need to change. You will have a clear answer after two weeks, which is better than an unclear one after six months.

Where does our information go during the work?

Samples you give us are handled on our own equipment. They are never placed in a code repository. If any information is too sensitive to share, we work from descriptions.

Are we committed to building with you afterwards?

No. The plan is written so that anyone competent can act on it. Many clients continue with us. None are obliged to.

Is this suitable for a very small business?

It suits a business with enough repeated work to be worth improving, usually twenty staff or more. If you are smaller, the readiness check is a better place to start.
